Is it secure to order from this site?
Yes. My shopping cart processes all the information by using the latest security technology: SSL 128-bit encryption.
What are your candles made of?
I sell Gel Wax Candles and 100% Soy Candles. They are both so much better on the environment and are unique so you get a completely different type of beverage candle depending on whether you choose gel or soy as your Happy Hour Beverage Candle. I get asked what gel is made of. It is manufactured from specially processed mineral oils and gelled with co-polymers. It has a clear rubbery texture and gel burns up to 4 x that of a paraffin candle. You may also ask are gel candles safe? YES! Gel candles are newer to the market and like any new product, some manufacturers do not do proper testing on their candles or use sub par gel. We use only the best gel wax from Penreco, called Versagel. Penreco retains the patent on it. I have also done many tests and use glass that is tempered. Owner error have also been known to be the cause. Burning for longer than the recommended time or leaving a candle burning with no supervision. You have to take the candle warnings very seriously so matter what kind of candle you are buying. You have to remember it is a candle with a flame like any other candle and all the rules apply the same for any candle you burn. Please read the Burn Instructions which I have on the bottom of all my beverage candles. Do not take that sticker off.
What is your return policy?
Do to the nature of my business I do not except returns or exchanges as my candles are so unique and handmade. If an item arrived damaged or I made a mistake, by all means, I will make it right. Just contact me within 48 hours of receipt of your shipment and send an email to dawnmarie@happyhourbeveragecandles.com and in the subject line put "damaged" or "mistake" and take a photo of the product and the package and attach it to the email. I will send out a replacement as soon as possible. Please retain the damaged product and packing materials as USPS may require an inspection. I will confirm when it can be discarded.
How long before I receive my order? do I track my order?
As soon as I receive an order I immediately start making it. It takes 48 hours for your candle to cure. Once I feel confident it is ready for shipping, I will send it out via USPS Priority Mail You will be emailed a tracking number which you can follow your shipment via https://usps.com. It typically takes 1-3 business days from the time it leaves my facility. Please open the link for important information on shipping-especially in the heat of the summer..
Why is my candle tunneling and burning unevenly?
It's because there are too many short burns. The rule of thumb is to let the candle burn 1 hour for every inch of diameter across the whole surface. For most candles it's 3 hours and it's called a "Memory Burn". You should do this the very first time you light your candle. You will find that the scent will last the entire life of the candle. Be very careful not to burn for longer than that. I call that Marathon Burning and I do not condone that kind of burning. Also make sure your wick is always trimmed to 1/4"
(gel wicks really don't' need trimming and you should keep it very short - 1/8" has been the best.). On the other side of the coin is the question of why a soy candle won't stay lit. In order to ensure that your wick doesn't keep snuffing out, keep your wick trimmed to 1/4". If your wick is too short, it may get drowned out in the pool of melted wax. If it is too long, the flame will also be too long and will be more prone to get blow out by a draft.
Why can't I smell my candle anymore?
It's called Nasal Desensitation. When you've had the same candle burning for some time, your nose gets accustomed to it. Rotate fragrances every 3 or 4 days. Light another candle with a different scent for a couple of days, then go back to your original candle. Removing yourself from the element and then introducing yourself back into the element will allow your nose to recognize the fragrance again.
My candle looks different than in the photo. Why is that?
If you find that your candle looks a little different than the photo - it is because I hand-make and hand pour each and every candle. For soy candles especially, I use 100% all natural soy wax. You may see some frosting, some droplets on the top of the candle or the wax did not adhere to the beverage glass everywhere. These are all perfectly normal and do not affect the scent throw or burn quality. That is how you know you are getting a real 100% all natural soy candle!
How can I clean out my Beverage Glass after the candle is out?
To clean your Soy Beverage Glass after you have finished burning it, put the cooled candle in the freezer for 5-10 minutes and the hardened wax should just pop out. For Gel, just peel it out. Hand wash and dry real thoroughly and your Beverage Glass is now ready for a REAL BEVERAGE!
