About Me
My name is Dawnmarie and I am originally from a very small town in the Southeastern part of Wisconsin. I was born and raised in Wisconsin so a Greenbay Packer fan I am and go Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers and Matt Kenseth!
I have a fantastic son Zach who lives in upstate New York. He is a Software Engineer and as a mom, I couldn't be more proud of all of his accomplishments from the time he was a child and now as an adult. He is very supportive of me and if I ever need a boost, he is always there to give me moral support. I also have a very special relationship with my ex-husband Steve. He will be my love until I take my last breath. I guess it takes getting sick and dealing with all the pressures of not working, and feeling like I wasn't contributing to my marriage which ended in divorce - to appreciate the special bond we had while married and an even stronger bond today. Even though we live in separate states, he in Oregon and me in Arizona, we get together as a family quite often and Skype every Sunday.
Prior to getting sick I worked full-time and in my spare time I would make soy candles. One day I ran out of candle jars so I opened a cupboard and found some mismatched wine glasses and thought, why not? That is how it all started. I made my first wine glass candle that day. From there I knew I had something unique and special. I knew I wanted to give customers a lasting reminder of their candle gift and by making them in beverage glasses I did just that! Instant hit!
At Happy Hour Beverage Candles, I took the idea of what happy hour patrons would typically order (of course I added my own happy hour faves as well) and turned them into candles! I hand-make each and every candle from either 100% all natural soy wax OR the best premium quality gel wax to make my happy hour drink candle specials. From Beer to Wine, to Mixed Drinks and even Champagne candles! They look and smell like the real thing and whether you choose soy or gel, they both last so much longer than paraffin and are better on the environment.I am a candle-maker but not just an ordinary candle-maker, I make Happy Hour Beverage Candles in both Gel and Soy Wax. I started making soy candles years ago.
